About me & FAQs
Are you a freelance motion designer or freelance motion graphics designer?
I'm a freelance motion designer by trade, although there are a few similar terms out there that all mean the same thing: a freelance motion designer is the same as a freelance motion graphics designer for example, motion graphics and motion design can be used interchangeably.
You may have also seen a few other terms: explainer video freelancer, freelance animator, freelance motion graphic artist, motion graphics freelancer - all of these are terms used to cover the work I produce.
No matter what job title I use though, my parents still think I “do computers” and will always ask me to fix the printer.
What does a freelance motion graphic designer do?
I create animations, motion graphics, 3D animation, video work… the list goes on.
I do specialise in producing animated explainer videos: short animations that teach the audience about new products, services, or topics.
I also love animating logos and bringing them to life on screen. Logo animation really adds an extra level of interest to a brand that really sticks in people's minds.
Are you a motion graphics company?
Although I'm not a motion graphics company, as a freelance motion graphic designer I offer exactly the same services as a full company and cover all aspects of the production process: from writing the script, to designing the storyboards, right up to the animation itself.
If a project requires it, I also have a network of trusted freelancers that can be brought in to help produce something amazing. The goal with every project is to create great work.
If you're trying to decide between a freelance motion graphics designer, or a motion graphics company then the best advice I can give you is to look at my work, if you like the animations I create then get in touch and let's see what we can create together.
It's also worth noting that motion design companies do tend to use motion graphic freelancers like myself on larger projects anyway, and with lower overheads than a motion graphics company, you may just save yourself a few pounds by hiring my directly.
So, if you're looking to find a freelance motion graphic designer, an explainer video freelancer, or a motion graphics company then we can definitely work together.
