A Radial Repeater for After Effects
I’ve just launched my latest project for made by loop called Spoke! It’s a radial layer repeater script for After Effects that provides a quick and simple way to repeat any layer, not just shaper layers, around a circle in After Effects.
Let’s say you wanted 10 copies of a layer distributed evenly around a circle, with Spoke all you’d need to do is select the layer you want to copy, enter 10 in the Number of copies text box, and hit go! The script will duplicate the layers, add a centre point control, and evenly space the layers around a circle relative to the original layer.
Although there’s an existing repeater option for shape layers, there are limits on how you can customise the animation and the look and feel of each of the copies - with Spoke however, each copy is its own unique layer which means they can be customised in their own way.
There’s also a few customisation options too, if you had a selection of arrows for example, there’s an option to have them all point inwards towards the centre point - this also comes in handy for repeating text layers around a circle.
I’m excited to see what people come up with while using the Spoke script, it’s perfect for experimenting and creating cool looking radial patterns in After Effects.
