How much does it cost to animate a logo?

Animating your logo is a great way to present your company online and in film. When done correctly, logo animation can actually enhance your logo, adding interest and intrigue through motion.

When it comes to logo animation costs, it can vary depending on what's needed from the animation, and as each logo is unique to each client, no two projects are ever the same.

The process I take for animating a logo is to look at what the logo itself is comprised of, how each of the elements could move, and how they could potentially bring in other parts of the logo. It's a process of trial, experimentation, and iterating through various approaches to find out what works and what doesn't, ultimately leading to the best animation for the logo in question.

The animation below for example had a few different iterations before landing on the chosen approach:

Costs for a basic logo animation

A basic logo animation project starts at £750, this covers the process mentioned above and the time it takes to iterate through design ideas. It's also enough to cover a logo animation around 5 seconds or so in length, with a video file provided as the final deliverable.

From this base price, costs then increase depending on various factors, such as: longer animation time, additional deliverables (like the logo animation in different colours), more advanced or complex animation required, and unique formats such as SVG animation for use on websites.

All of these factors, and others that could be unique to your project can increase the logo animation costs, that being said the top range for logo animation projects is usually around the £2000 mark.

Rewilding the planet with freelance animation and motion design

We've only got one planet, and right now it needs all the help it can get. Climate change and biodiversity loss are massive challenges that we need to tackle head on.

That's why, for every freelance animation project over £1000 a donation of 1% of the total budget will be made to the World Land Trust, on your behalf.

The money will go towards WLT's "buy an acre" programme; buying up and protecting vital habitats around the world, and helping fight against climate change.

Any motion design projects under £1000 will have a tree planted on your behalf.

Acres saved so far:

Thanks to my wonderful clients and the animations we've produced, enough money has been donated to save around:

17.5 Acres of vital habitats around the world.

Just think, your animated explainer video or logo animation could also be helping fight the climate crisis!
