Creating different shape masks in After Effects
I’ve always loved watching video tutorials on the web, I find having someone talk you through how to do something and being able to watch them do it is far more engaging than simply following a blog post with some screenshots.
So I’ve decided to have a go myself! I’ve put together a really short video tutorial, it’s actually more like a tiny bite-size tip than a full on tutorial for a couple of reasons really - 1) I just wanted to test the waters and see if I actually enjoyed creating a tutorial in this way & 2) I actually think it’s quite a nice format, rather than sitting through an hour long tutorial on how to create a really detailed composition, why not have a really brief tutorial on little time saving tricks? Will it work? Who knows but I thought I may as well try it out.
So here it is, video tutorial #1 goes through creating different shape masks such as triangles or octagons in Adobe After Effects using the polygon tool.
If you enjoy the video or have any feedback just let me know in the comments!
