Assassin's creed logo animation

I wanted to have a go at animating the futuristic Assassin’s creed logo in After Effects:

Whenever I see an animation I like, I’m always curious as to how it’s actually done and what techniques have been used to create it. As a result I tend to have a go at recreating animations, perhaps putting a bit of my own style into it was I go along. If nothing more, I find it’s a great way to practice!
